Microbiology Laboratory at NPRC

Microbiological analysis of samples, raw materials and finished products are carried out in the microbiology lab. The microbiology laboratory also collaborates with other specialized laboratories, such as the chemistry lab, to enhance the depth and accuracy of sample analysis. Advanced equipment like liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), found in chemistry labs, plays a crucial role in the detailed examination of microbial metabolites, identification of unknown compounds, and analysis of complex biochemical interactions. This interdisciplinary cooperation allows for a more comprehensive understanding of microbial processes and improves the quality of research and diagnostics.

Microbiology Lab Equipment

  • Modern Binocular Microscope

Enhances visualization and documentation during microscopic analysis of microbial samples.

  • Biosafety Cabinet

Provides a sterile environment for microbiological operations, ensuring safety for personnel, equipment, and samples.

  • Laminar Flow Cabinet

Laminar flow cabinet for maintaining aseptic techniques when handling samples.

  • Colony Counter

    Enables precise microbial quantification.

  • Incubator

Provides optimal conditions to support the growth of microorganisms, including bacteria, molds, and fungi.

  • Automatic Vertical Autoclave

Performs sterilization of microbiological apparatuses and culture media.

  • Analytical Weighing Balance

Precisely measures small quantities of substances, such as powdered media components, chemical reagents, and test substances.

  • Oven

Sterilizes non-heat-sensitive materials, dries glassware, and removes moisture from samples.

  • Refrigerator

Used to store temperature sensitive materials, such as culture media, reagents, antibiotics and microbial samples, preserving viability of microorganisms and prevent chemical degradation
